Business Intelligence Analyst Overview

The primary responsibility of the Business Intelligence Analyst role is to monitor processes and platforms, implementation of quality control protocol supporting the company’ s core systems and completing root cause analyses on core operations and technical processes. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented and highly innovative.

Business Intelligence Analyst Responsibilities: 
  • Monitoring processes and platforms
  • Recommends strategies for process and monitoring improvements
  • Works closely with functional Business and IT areas to investigate root cause analysis, best practices, and control measurements to mitigate further issues on core operations and technical processes
  • Makes recommendations for long-term resolution of problems across the enterprise
  • Evaluates, tests and recommends new opportunities for enhancing our software, hardware and Business & IT processes
  • Ability to interact with databases via SQL, Minitab, Tableau, and Talend a plus
  • Creates reports using SQL, SAS, Access, etc.
  • Providing core process mapping and content expertise on processes
  • Maintaining and managing process metrics
  • Passionate about automation, smart monitoring, and intelligent alerting
  • Focus on predicting and preventing failures
  • Responsible for translating business needs to IT solutions, and vice versa, with current programs, projects and initiatives in mind

Business Intelligence Analyst Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, technology development, process management or relative work experience, preferably in the financial industry
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced programming skills on relational databases (SAS, Oracle, mySQL, etc.)
  • Ability to develop, execute, manage and maintain highly complex reports, monitoring, and metrics
  • Ability to translate business intent to detailed requirements
  • Strong in Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Strong communication and documentation skills 
  • Ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines
  • Ability to work well cross functionally to drive change
  • Self-starter with a strong drive to get to the root of issues
  • Ability to deliver bottom-line results in terms of improved profitability and/or customer retention
