Director, Strategic Sales

 

The Director, Strategic Sales is responsible for building a new book of business in a specified territory.  This involves prospecting potential customers via cold calling, following up on warm leads, and closing the deal.  Through a partnership with an Inside Sales Representative, focus on business development and account management through the first few weeks of implementation is needed in order to achieve the desired goals.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Leverage networking abilities to build a strong professional pipeline, uncover new leads
  • Research prospective clients’ business goals, objectives and challenges to determine revenue potential
  • Recommend and propose solutions to the appropriate key decision maker(s).
  • Stay engaged through client implementation phase to ensure a complete revenue realization
  • Deliver accurate and timely forecasts to multiple levels of management
  • Prepare and execute sales plans, events, and campaigns to deliver strong results
  • Responsible for meeting required sales/revenue target while maintaining established margins
  • Prepare proposals and contracts as well as deliver presentations
  • Must be willing to travel locally, 50-75% of the time

 

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of proven B2B consultative sales experience with a record of meeting/exceeding sales targets
  • Experience in selling multiple products or solutions, ideally in commercial payments or the finance industry
  • Experience selling to/managing relationships with contacts at various levels, including C-suite
  • Proven success in executing the sales process through to the close
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, relationship building and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, self-directed environment
  • CRM/Salesforce.com/customer database experience a plus
  • Proficient use of Word / Excel / PowerPoint / web
