IT Support Technician

The IT Support Technician comes from a helpdesk or desktop support background and is responsible for supporting the Corporate IT Business community. This individual provides first level evaluation, second level support, and assists management team with day to day operations of the group. The IT Support Technician receives, assesses, troubleshoots, and escalates support requests.

 

IT Support Technician Responsibilities: 
  • Provide user support to the Corporate IT Business community (helpdesk and desktop support)
  • Serve as a front line interface to users (helpdesk and desktop support)
  • Communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical employees 
  • Provide outstanding customer service and world class support in a large, fast paced, high pressure, corporate environment
  • With minimal supervision, troubleshoot, trace, and repair connectivity problems

 

IT Support Technician Required Experience: 
  • Helpdesk or Desktop support experience in a corporate environment
  • Working knowledge of trouble ticketing systems and ability to log/update/close tickets, prioritize issues and balance workloads bringing customer problems to full resolution 
  • Working knowledge of networking (wired and wireless), protocols (TCP/IP and sub-netting), VPN, and basic networking troubleshooting skills 
  • Effectively support (install, troubleshoot, configure and repair) a variety of internal and third party applications for client workstations, PDAs, printers and servers
  • Possess full understanding of installing, troubleshooting, configuring, and repairing Windows client/server Operating Systems in both desktop and lab environments 

 

IT Support Technician Preferred Experience: 
  • Working knowledge of Voice/Telecom systems
  • Troubleshoot, trace, and repair connectivity problems from the jack to the Patch/PBX panels in both LAN/WAN and Telecom environments
  • Deploy new phone and voice mail extensions
