Network & Telecom Engineering Manager Responsibilities
  • Oversee the function and availability of the company enterprise-wide network and voice infrastructure, with a team of network and telecom engineers and administrators supporting daily operational requests and longer-term projects.
  • Manage team to measurable key-performance indicators and service levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technology and business stakeholders to prioritize requests and projects.
  • Understand and manage network and telecom-related expenses and projects with capital expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with network and telecom equipment and telecommunications vendors (carriers).
  • Manage and support the underlying telephony systems providing services to multiple global call centers and multiple administrative or engineering offices.
  • Define and evolve a multi-year roadmap for telephony systems supporting our call center and office networks to keep up with latest technologies aimed at improving speed-to-market while lowering expenses.

  • Manage and support the underlying network, including:
    • Production data center infrastructure for
      • mass market DNS hosting
      • mass market website hosting
      • mass market email hosting
      • PCI and HIPAA compliant network environments
      • corporate online storefronts, CRMs and related customer account systems
      • public and private cloud integrations
      • mission critical call center operations
    • Corporate data center infrastructure for
      • DevOps development environments
      • corporate platforms supporting administrative requirements (finance, corporate services such as email, DNS, fileshares, data warehousing, and virtual desktop environments)
      • corporate offices for administrative and engineering employees
  • Define and evolve a multi-year roadmap for data center, call center and office networks to keep up with latest technologies aimed at improving speed-to-market while lowering expenses.
  • Manage enterprise-wide DDOS defenses.
  • Manage enterprise-wide network routing, switching, and firewalls, from configuration, change management, and monitoring.
  • Support 24/7 operations with crisis management, including:
    • Hands-on troubleshooting and crisis team leadership.
    • Communication to peers and executives with relevant progress updates and resolution steps.

Network & Telecom Engineering Manager Required Experience
  • 10+ years of network and telecom engineering leadership for enterprises with multiple offices, call centers, and multi-10G data center environments.
  • 5+ years managing capital and operational budgets related to network and telecommunications expenses, as well as relationships with equipment vendors and telecommunications carriers.
  • CCIE level certifications or demonstrable similar experience.
  • Undergraduate level bachelors' degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems.
