Job Description
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Build rapport with domestic suppliers
- Issues requests for quotes as directed by Senior Manager Parts Inventory
- Manges pricing agreements with suppliers and initiates internal activities to update the parts master.
- Review part number substitutions for accuracy,
- Receives system-generated POs, conducts reviews, and submits to suppliers.
- Places daily emergency orders as needed.
- Monitors activities of Procurement Specialist and gives guidance and assistance.
- Obtain necessary approval before purchase as outlined by the Company.
- Responds to internal customer requests as it relates to price and delivery.
- Track and report supplier performance to department management.
- Resolve complex OS&D issues.
- File claim for missing or damaged parts
- Resolve complex invoice discrepancies.
- Willingness to travel to supplier location.
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, manage statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
- Coordinate cross-functional research and activities to reconcile and refine the forecast model, thereby improving forecast accuracy and reducing obsolescence.
- Attend regular meetings with global mining account clients and selected high-volume customers and dealers.
- React immediately to stock-outs, missed supplier lead times, or transit delays with timely communication to the customer service team. Place purchase orders as needed to support the dealers.
- Prepare and submit initial orders for new machines.
- Demand planner will create and maintain forecast models, incorporating business intelligence (IDMS/SPM) and related forecast information gathered from dealers, mining technical support, field sales, and the dealer
- Supplier management.
- Maintain approved supplier list and contacts.
- Eliminate credit hold.
- Review and manage proposed supplier price increases.

- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of practical buying / Planning experience in a fast-paced environment.
- APICS or other forecasting Certification preferred
