Quality Assurance Engineer Job Description:
We’re hiring a contract Quality Assurance Engineer to join the IT Team. You will participate in QA verification and validation to support web content, mobile apps, or other media. Our QA team has a passion for testing and quality to support the
kids, teachers, and parents who rely on our products. The QAE will work independently and collaboratively with Developers, Dev/OPS and Data teams in Agile sprints with trii-weekly deployment cycles.
Quality Assurance Engineer Responsibilities:
? Get up to speed on web application stack
? Become a subject matter expert and an assigned lead in a specific areas of the web product application
? Create and execute accurate and detailed test cases and test plans based off of specific user journeys and acceptance criterias as required
? Support manual testing of products on multiple device platforms and web browsers while leveraging dev tools, proxies, and API testing methods.
? Ability to create clear and succinct bug reports and ability to investigate
root causes
? Participate in technical design of new features and contribute QA
expertise to create effective testing strategies
? Identify quality assurance process bottlenecks and suggest actions for improvement
? Create, maintain, and update internal and external facing documents, trackers, or collaborative visual applications
? Collaborate with the Product Development team and Scrum Master to ensure
consistent project execution, communication, and transparency
? Become an advocate for ensuring GDPR, COPPA, and WCAG
compliance testing is adhered to in new feature development
? Actively engage in Agile Scrum and sprint ceremonies
? Willingness to learn test automation technologies and supporting the automation roadmap
Quality Assurance Engineer Qualifications:
? Minimum 5 years of Quality Assurance experience in manual web or
mobile application testing
? Mastery in testing APIs and microservices with comprehensive understanding of the client/server model, using Postman and Charles Proxy or similar tools
? Mastery in testing web GUIs leveraging browser devtools with special emphasis on UI/UX with responsive web design
? Expertise in creating user focused test cases and test plans from feature
acceptance criterias and ensuring complete test coverage
? Solid foundation utilizing issue tracking tools for project management and bug
reporting
? General understanding and some active experience in automation testing is a plus or interest in learning test automation
? BA/BS degree in computer science or related engineering field
