Research Director Career Opportunity
Our client who is an industry leader in the customer experience and contact center solution space is seeking a dynamic individual with high energy and drive to join their team as a Research Director. This individual will play an integral part in leading global AI, ML, Data Science, and Software Engineering talent groups.

Research Director Role and Responsibilities
  • Define and manage Research program/roadmap to support strategic goals of the company
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in our research operations and develop software solutions to address them
  • Foster a culture of innovation and creativity within the software development team
  • Responsible for delivering to downstream consumers new algorithms/libraries/tools for innovative capabilities rapidly and on-time
  • Cultivating relationships with Product Management other Customer facing Groups
  • Lead a large global AI/ML/Data Science talent group
  • Identifying/hiring team members and line management of key contributors
Research Director Required Qualifications and Experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Research program leadership positions
  • Experience as a Data Scientist on fast-paced, innovation-driven, advanced technology R&D projects
  • Proven track record of delivering large ML/AI products
  • 4-year degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical domain
Research Director Desired/Advanced Qualifications and Experience
  • An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical domain
  • Experience serving as a line manager for a team of scientists and engineers
  • Experience leading and cultivating cohesion for geographically distributed teams
  • Academic and/or industry publications in relevant fields
  • Experience with agile software development practices
  • Experience developing AI/ML/LLM/GenAI solutions and products
  • Experience with the full research lifecycle (proposal to publication/transition) or the software development lifecycle (from concept to prototype and production)
  • Proven experience leading rapidly growing teams
