Sr M365 SharePoint / Teams Architect – Urgent Requirement

(SP/Teams/OneDrive Oversharing Remediation • Copilot Readiness • M365 Security Review)
Core Objective
The architect will lead a tenant?wide modernization and security uplift across SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive, while preparing the environment for a broader Microsoft Copilot rollout. This is a hands?on, senior advisory role requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to drive cross?functional remediation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversharing Remediation — Assess and correct external/internal oversharing across SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
    • Identify high?risk sites, links, and sharing patterns
    • Implement governance controls (sensitivity labels, DLP, conditional access, sharing policies)
    • Partner with business units to remediate without disrupting workflows
  • Copilot Readiness — Prepare the M365 tenant for a secure and effective Copilot deployment.
    • Validate data access boundaries
    • Ensure content lifecycle policies are in place
    • Confirm licensing, app enablement, and search index readiness
    • Advise on change management and user adoption strategy
  • M365 Security Review — Conduct a full tenant?wide security and best?practices assessment.
    • Review Secure Score, identity posture, conditional access, MFA
    • Evaluate Teams/SharePoint governance, guest access, and external collaboration
    • Recommend and implement best?practice configurations
    • Produce executive?level findings and remediation roadmap
Required Expertise
  • SharePoint Online Architecture — site architecture, permissions models, hub/site governance
  • Teams Architecture — Teams/Channels lifecycle, external access, app governance
  • OneDrive for Business — sharing controls, sync policies, data protection
  • Microsoft Purview — sensitivity labels, DLP, insider risk, information governance
  • Entra ID — identity security, conditional access, role delegation
  • Copilot for M365 — data access, semantic index, licensing, governance
  • Strong consulting presence: stakeholder management, executive communication, remediation leadership
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 10+ years in Microsoft collaboration/security architecture
  • Proven experience leading oversharing remediation at enterprise scale
  • Hands?on delivery + advisory capability
  • Experience preparing organizations for Copilot or other AI?driven M365 features
  • Ability to produce clear, actionable remediation plans and governance frameworks
