Job Description

Dell PowerFlex Engineer

We have a need for strong Dell PowerFlex Engineers for our team as we have a few major projects in their early phases.  We are seeking Dell PowerFlex Engineers who are IT professionals skilled in designing, deploying, and managing Dell's PowerFlex software-defined storage platform, focusing on its software-defined architecture, high performance, and scalability for modern data centers. Key responsibilities include configuring PowerFlex Manager, understanding vSphere, managing storage and compute resources, ensuring data protection, and providing expertise for both block and file storage across various environments
Dell PowerFlex Engineers Primary Duties/Skillset:
  • Dell PowerFlex Design, Deployment, Installation, Logical Configuration, and RCM (upgrades)
  • VMware VM Workload Migrations: vMotion and Cross vCenter vMotion
Dell PowerFlex Engineers Secondary Duties/Skillsets:
  • Zerto deployment, replication, and migrations
  • VMware HCX configuration and migrations

Dell PowerFlex Engineers Certifications Desired:
  • Dell PowerFlex Design Certification (D-PWF-DS-23)
  • Dell PowerFlex Implementation Certification (D-PWF-DY-A-00)
  • Dell PowerFlex Operate Exam (D-PWF-OE-00)
  • VMware VCP-DCV
Dell PowerFlex Engineers Other Details:
  • Skillset must be strong in Dell PowerFlex design, deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and RCM Upgrades with the latest versions of PowerFlex software.
  • Expect deep technical vetting, so must have a deep knowledge of PowerFlex. 
  • PowerFlex Architecture: Deep understanding of the software-defined architecture, including the Meta Data Manager (MDM), Storage Data Server (SDS), and Storage Data Client (SDC) components.
  • Must be able to perform VM Migrations using  vMotion and/or Cross vCenter vMotions.  Some of this will occur in maintenance windows. 
  • Potential need for travel to engage/oversee physical installation of hardware.
