Job Description
The Senior Network Engineer will assist in the engineering and enhancement of the overall network/security platform. Functions include daily maintenance of the system to ensure proper operation (performance, reliability, security, disaster recovery), planning for continued expansion and upgrades to the system, working with vendors and clients to ensure our business requirements can be met. As a senior Network Engineer this position is expected to complete assigned tasks with little or no help from other team members.
Scope: Network Deployment Efforts
(Needs to be skilled in Cisco switches, Palo Alto, and Big Switch Converged Cloud Fabric)
-Configuration of Layer 3 Router/Switches
-Layer 2 ToR Switches
-Layer 2 Management Switches
-Production Deployment of Network Devices
Location: Birmingham, AL
- Onsite – As Needed approximately 2-3 days onsite per month
Sr. NETWORK ENGINEER Must Haves
- Big Switch “Converged Cloud Fabric” which is now part of Arista Networks
- Palo Alto Firewalls with point-to-point VPN configuration and SSL VPN / Global Protect experience
- Palo Alto with good experience with routing and policies
- Must have CCNP * CCIE a major plus
- Cisco Switches
- Layer 3 Router/Switches
- Heavy Cisco (9300s/9500s)
- Nexus (Running Cisco Nexus 2k, 3k, 5k, 7k, and 9k)
- Strong knowledge of Routing Protocols
- Experience with BGP & OSPF (Open Shortest Path First)
- Fortinet Firewall
- Azure and/or AWS
- Infoblox
