We are looking to hire a Sr. UNIX Linux Engineer contractor. In this role, you will be responsible for participating on a team that administers, maintains, and supports all UNIX Server hardware and Operating Systems including Linux, Solaris, Azure, and AWS EC2 instances.
As a Senior UNIX Linux Engineer, you will be expected to work in a remote environment. We will set you up for success by providing:

Sr. UNIX Linux Engineer Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Red Hat Linux Administration
- Ansible scripting and automation
- Monitoring the environment for performance and stability to meet Service Level objectives.
- Maintaining system patching and security levels.
- Developing ansible playbooks and modules.
- Creating and deploying Ansible solutions for a distributed data center infrastructure environment.
- Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues in our dev, test, and production environments.
- Rooting cause analysis on incidents related UNIX systems, hardware, and OS/software.
- Maintaining the environment to satisfy security requirements set by business drivers,
Information Security, and Compliance departments. - Updating system and process documentation and user guides as needed diagrams and SOPs as needed.
- Participating in an On-Call rotation to address production related issues.
- Possessing the ability to objectively handle escalation of reported incidents.
Sr. UNIX Linux Engineer Qualifications & Skills
- Red Hat Linux Administration
- Ansible Scripting and Automation
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or a related subject or 5+ years’ experience in given field
- Advanced Scripting and Automation skills with some of following: (Ansible Playbooks, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Shell).
- Linux/Unix administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills are a necessity.
- Hands on experience with networking technologies and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, NFS and CIFS.
- Experience working in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Red Hat Satellite familiarity for patching and managing baselines.
- Virtualization technology such as VMware, Nutanix, Oracle/Solaris, is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of Git/Gitlab and Ansible Tower.
- Working knowledge of DNS, Sendmail, SNMP, and Postfix configurations.
- Knowledge of PCI and SOC1/SOC2 mandates.
- Must be capable of coping with pressure situations, have good planning skills and work well with others in a team environment.
- A self-starter with good interpersonal skills who can work equally well with management, peers, or end-users. Able to lead a team on projects and be a liaison with Project Managers.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift daily to meet business objectives.
- AD Integration/LDAP configuration and troubleshooting across multiple Unix platforms.
- Familiar with ServiceNow ticket system, SolarWinds, Splunk, and Dynatrace monitoring tools.
- RHCE or RHCSA or RHSA
